# INTENTIO

> INTENTIO is a command line framework for designing cognitive environments. You write your domain in Markdown, and a small model works inside it on your Mac.

INTENTIO is an open source command line framework, written in plain PHP. A space is a folder of Markdown and text files: the knowledge of a domain and the commands that use it. INTENTIO splits each file into sections, embeds them with a local model and stores the index in a SQLite file on disk. A small language model (Mistral 7B by default) answers inside that space and lists the files and passages each result was built from. Everything runs on a Mac with Apple Silicon: no account, no subscription, no telemetry, and no internet connection once the models are downloaded.

Install:

Requirements: a Mac with Apple Silicon; PHP 8.2 or later with the sqlite3 extension, and Composer; oMLX to serve the language and embedding models; optionally mflux to render images. The three default models take under 9 GB of disk.
